Jelena Wurth & her interior design
Who is Jelena Wurth
I’m interior designer, 41 years, living with Martin and Nikai (15 yrs) in The Hague (Ypenburg).
I like home and I like working with my house.
What is a normal working day look like?
No day is standard. I have fun, diverse assignments, making it so that I can run many different days did. If I work at home, I’m usually around 8.30 in the attic, a delicious and light work. Because I’m on the board of CRISP (professional association for interior designers) and for the CRISP tracking website, I’m sure the first half hour getting rid of mail. Also updating the site I at the beginning of the day. Then I start with what the state plan. This can be a decorating advice for a private client, preparing a lesson for students at the ROC or the ordering of furniture for a model home. I am also color stylist for Histor and give color advice and training in order of color Histor. These should also be prepared.
And your day
These are limited now to the weekend. Then I read the first newspaper with a large coffee and we start the day quietly happy. In the summer we love to keep our garden. If we have time, we look at a flea market in the area. There is a long list of addresses still visit / shops / museums, so it comes out by bad weather.
When are you coming to live here?
We are in April 2000 in Ypenburg to live. A suburban location that may not reach the imagination. But our house is a spacious family home right on a park. Our house is a new house with a soul has become. We made a front and back, I love the place!
How would you describe the interior design of your house?
Difficult, it’s a mix of modern and vintage with a bit of a retro look. Our bank features regularly in another arrangement put down. Our kitchen we have designed and made of concrete plywood (concrete from the material is landfilled). Our countertop is concrete (otherwise I would never want to). The kitchen in the original arrangement would be somewhere else than where we have chosen. I’m married to an architect, he is also very handy with maps. I collect vases West Germany interchange regularly. An interior, the story of the residents radiate so everyone feels at home in the house. That is certainly the case with us, it is surely the place of Martin and Nikai!
What is your favorite city?
Paris! Always beautiful, rain or shine. I come there regularly and there are still places I would like to see. Strolling through Paris, I do nothing more.
Where to get the inspiration?
Everywhere around me is inspiration. If you just look carefully and curious. I leaf through many books and magazines, but love going “off the beaten track ‘to see something different than asphalt. Exhibitions, city view or brainstorming with colleagues, there is always bubbling ideas.
My tip for the reader
