Loft interior design from Rachel & Ben
Rachel Been and Ben Brown fell in love when their home in Brooklyn for the first time. It was exactly what she had in mind. Rachel is a Creative Director and Ben Brown is the owner of Sustainable Makem, an organization that strives for a sustainable society. So two creative people who fell for the exposed pipes, brick walls and high ceilings of the house. Even the mega striking heater on the ceiling speaks very much to the couple. Love at first sight.

Industrial interior design
The raw unfinished interior design was just the beginning. Rachel & Ben wanted to emphasize this look. They hung cage lights, black pipes used for a clothing and shoe making, buying gray industrial metal shelves and cabinets in place of normal, they were looking for sturdy lockers to store things. This industrial elements combined them with mid-century colors and accessories. The Castiglioni Arco lamp, colored cushions and chairs originally from a school … all great elements in this interior to make this home alive.
